'Tis the season to fight hunger in a Bruce way.
The "Bruce Brunch" radio show, hosted by Tom Cunningham on Manahawkin's 105.7-FM The Hawk, will broadcast its 10th annual Bruce Springsteen all-request show 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 29 for the benefit of the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. 'Tis the season to fight hunger in a Boss way.
"In addition to helping to raise thousands of dollars over the years for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the folks who participate always come up with some amazing requests and dedications," said Cunningham in a statement.

Springsteen has long been associated with the WhyHunger Hungerthon campaign and this year is no different. A limited edition Bruce Springsteen 40th anniversary "Born to Run" poster is among the gifts being offered if you visit hungerthon.org and donate.
Also, a Springsteen-signed "Born to Run" poster is being offered in the Hungerthon auction at www.charitybuzz.com/hungerthon. Other items included in the auction are a Michael McDonald autographed piano key, lunch with "Doonesbury" creator Garry Trudeau, a meet and greet and show with Fall Out Boy at Madison Square Garden, autographed guitars from 10,000 Maniacs and Brandi Carlile and more.

The Hungerthon was founded in 1975 by folksinger Harry Chapin and radio host Bill Ayres. The intent is to connect communities to food-related resources and promote sustainable food systems.
