Reply to "Ultimate Classic Rock article: When Bruce Springsteen Performed With Clarence Clemons for the First Time"

Love the story of Bruce and Clarence meeting up, but it should be correctly stated that the Big Man was not on the cover of Born To Run, he was on the backside of the gatefold album jacket. Anyone who has read C's biography knows this irked him more than a little bit. The two spent log hours during a photo session with Eric Meola, and in the end the record company decided to put Clarence on the back. He is so vital to BTR's sound and success, he really should have been front and center on the cover.

Anyone truly interested in Clarence's artistry as a player should dig up his 1995 solo instrumental album "Peace Maker."  Apart from his classic solo on Jungleland, I dare say that nothing he has ever recorded captures his true spirit so eloquently as the tracks on this disc. It is beautiful music, to say the least. Anyone interest can PM me and I'll share the files.
