Reply to "More details emerge about Bruce Springsteen’s Broadway debut"

If this rumor is true to me it would fit to the retrospective mood that Bruce went through after the release of Wrecking Ball in 2012. High Hopes (with the BITUSA DVD), River Boxset and tour, Chapter and Verse, BTR autobiography - no new stuff here.

Bruce clearly enjoyed the BTR book tour. Why not do it again and throw in a couple of tunes? The Theatre is not far from his home. So no big traveling around and also tickets (despite the presumably insane prices) will sell in a wink of an eye.

You also have to keep in mind that he's turning 68 soon. I guess he's fully aware that in a couple of years the times of 3+ hours ESB shows are over. I don't think he'll retire so therefore he has to think about how to handle future tours. Maybe we got a glimpse of this on the River tour 16/17 where the single legs where 2 to 3 months long. That would also fit to what SVZ said in interview a while ago. He stated that he likes to go on tour every year but only for couple of months.

On the other hand Bruce is an Entertainer. He needs the energy from the audience. So I'm not sure if he's satisfied in reading from his book and play some songs for forty shows in a row.

If he really wants to do this thing it's fine with me. But after that please release the new album.
