Bruce Springsteen and Elton John among the veteran music stars on "Forbes" magazine's 2017 Celebrity 100 list

Danny Clinch; ABC/Randy HolmesForbes has unveiled the 2017 edition of its Celebrity 100 list, ranking the world's top-earning celebrities, and Bruce Springsteen and Elton John are among the veteran musicians who appear on the tally.

Springsteen was #17 on the list after earning $75 million between June 1 2016 and June 1 2017, the time period the list covers.  The cash came mostly from his successful tour dates with The E Street Band, plus an added $10 million payday from an advance for his memoir, Born to Run.

As for Elton, he landed at #26 after taking in $60 million. The British pop-rock legend increased his bank account thanks to a busy touring itinerary which included 99 shows as part of his ongoing Las Vegas residency.

Other veteran music stars who made the Celebrity 100 this year include Paul McCartney, who was tied with rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers at #32 with $54 million in earnings; Jimmy Buffett at #35 with $50.5 million; Dolly Parton at #71 with $37 million; Bon Jovi at #80 with $33.5 million; and Billy Joel at #82 with $35 million.

As for the highest-paid celebrity on the list, that would by Diddy, a.k.a. Sean Combs, who took in $130 million.
