The VERY first tour show since the '69 comeback!

The sound is distant, but absolutely hearable.
However, I assume this is for the fan who want material that is of historical interest (1st tour show) even if the sound quality is rather inferior.

Comments:
This show is very much better than Omaha the day before, he speaks clearly and sings well..for 1977 (but have mercy and do not compare to 1970 or 1972). In my view, it is a valuable document of Elvis nearly 2 months prior to his death, - and the performance DOES NOT make it obvious that is about to happen! He puts on a decent show. Yep, if only THIS had been filmed and not Omaha, and CBS would have had much better material to edit together the TV special from.

The sound is pretty good for an AUDIENCE recording, enjoyable to listen to (unless you only can accept soundboards and official-release quality). He is of course a bit in the distance, but not too much. I only wish the guy closest to the tape recorder would have been able to keep his mouth shut, as he occasionally talks and laughs like he is ignorant of the recording going on. He probably never intended - at the time - to have the recording in circulation (as a CD) among other fans?!

I recently bought this as I heard he was a lot better in Lincoln that on some other nights, and want to share this 1977 moment with you.

COMMENTS:
This is a budget-type release compared to Dayton Reloaded (which comes with a hardcover book about the tour/shows and a totally different packaging altogether).
Some considers this release to be much closer to how the original tape sounded than the Reloaded release (that's been mastered by DAE). According to Elvis In Norway, what sound is the "best" is a matter of taste. Myself, I've got this GRM release, and I consider the sound to be very good!
