I always found the sound lacking punch on Darkness, and tinny on The River. Great, great songs that were only fully realized live. I think the love for Landau and Co. has more to do with how bad an album WOAD was. I'm waiting for a real good remas

From the Youtube video, it looks like it was the flimsy plastic pint cups that were thrown, not bottles. You can see liquid spray from one of them just at the start of Welcome to the Jungle. As far as I'm aware they were scheduled to come on at 9.30
